The Story of Timbuctoo: Black Voting Rights in the Adirondacks

91Ӱ Live: Summer Series presents, “The story of Timbuctoo: Black voting rights in the Adirondacks,” with Pete Nelson, a co-founder of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative and an adjunct faculty member at 91Ӱ. Pete’s presentation will focus on the effort to establish voting rights for free blacks in the North Elba region of the Adirondacks in the 1840s.
The session is part of 91Ӱ Live: Summer Series and will be held via Zoom Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. It is free, although pre-registration is required so invitation details can be sent to participants. To register, visit www.nccc.edu/live.
